Darlene "Dar" A. Herfurt,
MSHA, MBA
Dar Herfurt joined Colorado
Allergy and Asthma Centers
in 1995. She is the director
of our Asthma & Exercise Clinic
and director of Marketing.
The A & E Clinic is an exciting
approach in treating our patients
who have asthma and/or exercise-induced
asthma (EIA). This program
is on the cutting edge of
asthma care.
Dar received her bachelor's
degree in physical education,
health, and special education
from Xavier University in
Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1996
she received a dual master's
from the University of Colorado
at Denver in Health Administration
and Business Administration.
Prior to joining CAAC, she
was a recreational therapist
III in the Pediatric Rehab
Department at National Jewish
Center for Immunology and
Respiratory Medicine for over
10 years.
Dar is an exceptionally well
educated and experienced specialist
in the area of exercise-induced
asthma. Her main focus is
on improving the quality of
life for patients with asthma
and/or EIA. She emphasizes
proper asthma management with
appropriate medications, peak
flow meter usage, self-monitoring
and pacing skills, and-most
important, education.
